Piercy, Susan Kinsey

Susan Kinsey Piercy, 67, of Blacksburg, Va., died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 27, 2015, following an extended illness. A Memorial Service for Susan will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, in the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church, 701 Church Street, Blacksburg, Va.

Susan was a graduate of Wake Forest University, University of South Carolina, and Purdue University. At various times, Susan was a USO singer and dancer, a stained glass artist, author, and for thirty years a professor, speech pathologist and audiologist. She had a remarkable ability to see and bring out the best in others and touched many lives.

Surviving are her husband, Fred; two sons, David and Stephen; their wives, Kelly and Katrina; three grandchildren, Julia, Alex, and Ryan; cousins, Drew and Sarah; Sarah’s husband, Bill; and sister-in-law Sarah.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Blacksburg Presbyterian Church.
