Pickeral, Catherine Ritter

Catherine Ritter Pickeral, 73, of Roanoke, passed away, Friday, April 13, 2007. She was born in Pulaski County on February 12, 1934.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Pickeral; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Ritter; and a sister, Bonnie Jones of Maryland.

Catherine was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast and loved to make Swedish weaving blankets. She was always ready to lend a helping hand when you needed her.

She is survived by a son, Larry Tickle, Sr. and his wife, Tina of Muncy, Pa.; two daughters, Cathy Weisel and her husband, Scott of Connecticut; and Barbara Cochran and her partner, Larry Johnson of Williamsport, Pa. Catherine is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Marguerite Richardson, Ruby Simmons, Lyda Farlow, Peggy Dalton, Sue Jones and Pat Hash, all of Pulaski; Mary Firebaugh and Wanda Davis, both of Roanoke; three brothers, Ray Ritter and Roy Ritter, of Pulaski; and Hensel Ritter, of California; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Lotz Roanoke Chapel. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Spring Tree Nursing Home for their wonderful care and support.
