Phillips, Wanda Hodge

>Wanda Hodge Phillips, 63, of Christiansburg, loving wife and stepmother died peacefully Friday, January 21, 2011 at home following a brief illness. She was born in Christiansburg on April 4, 1947 and was the daughter of the late Roy and Alice McGuire Hodge.

Surviving are husband of 40 years, Elmer Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Teresa Hodge; stepson, Eddie Phillips; stepson and wife, Jeff and Melissa Phillips, stepdaughter and husband, Joy and Roy Bowden; stepdaughter, Carol Cressell; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one stepnephew.

During Wanda’s final days she received gentle and loving care from many family and friends. Wanda’s family is grateful to all who provided love and wish to express appreciation to Carilion Clinic Hospice and her team of in-home givers, Missy Allen, Angie Gallimore, Tabitha Sifford, Christy Dishon and Tammy Trussler.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Mike Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Monday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
