Phyllis Hogan Phillips, 80, of Pulaski died on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at her home. She was born in Arista (Mercer County) W.Va. on January 11, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Fallie Thomas Hogan and Beatrice Hubbard Hogan.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren Preston (Hub) Phillips; and by two sisters, Geneva Hogan Steele and Shirley Hogan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski.

Surviving are two sons, Warren Preston Phillips, II of Virginia Beach and Thomas Lee Phillips of Pulaski; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jerry Davis of Pulaski; one grandson, John Warren Lucas of Blacksburg; brother and sister-in-law, Carlos and Shirley Hogan of Bluefield, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Henry Steele of Salem; sisters-in-law, Margaret Ballowe of Roanoke and Virginia Robertson of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Phillips will be cremated and there will be no funeral service. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, August 24, 2007 from 6 until 8 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Youth Group, 135 4th Street NW, Pulaski, VA 24301 or to the Carilion Hospice Services NRV, 707 Randolph Street, Suite 251, Radford, VA 24141.
