Phillips, Pedie Jarnett

Pedie Jarnett Phillips, 76, of Dublin, VA, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at her home. She was born May 13, 1942 at Giles County, the daughter of the late Robert Lee & Bielia Victoria Whittaker. She was a nature lover, loved flowers of all kinds and enjoyed feeding hummingbirds. She was considered the best mom ever.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Ann King, three brothers, Roby, Arnold and Preston Whittaker and three sisters, Evelyn Gilmer, Lula Collins and Elizabeth Quesenberry.

Left to cherish her memory are her “favorite” son, Ricky Hill; two daughters, Karen Donahue and Donna Windle & Robert Akers; eight grandchildren, Travis & Sandy King, Cherish & Aaron Hawkins, Matthew Queen, Jeremy Queen & Cristina Miller, Erin & Derek Hayley, Brandi & Brian Dunagan, Casey Hill & Laycie Page and Dylan Smart & Mackenzie Nesbitt; eleven great-grandhchildren, Shawn, Wesley and Bethenny King, Reba and Elaina Hawkins, Landon and Alice Queen, David Higgins, Xoie and Millie Dunagan and Maezly Windle; a brother & sister-in-law, Rodney & Brenda Whittaker; two sisters, Carrie Perkins and Patricia (“Tiny”) Smith; favorite adopted daughter, Tina Akers; and her companion, Kenneth Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at A. vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M until service time, 2:00 P.M. Burial plans are incomplete.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in her honor directly to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
