Marzelle (C.M.) “Phil” Phillips, age 81 of Dublin passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Radford Health and Rehab Center. Born October 19, 1932 in Pulaski County he was the son of the late Kenneth Clark Phillips & Edna Covey Phillips.

His wife; Sandra Lynn Counts Phillips preceded him in death in 2013. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War and he was an active member of the Pulaski V.F.W. Post 1184 He is survived by his Children Son-Keith & Linda Phillips – Taylors, SC (Grandchildren – Tom & Michelle) Daughter-Karen Phillips – Chesapeake, VA

Step-Children- John & Angie Thomas – Charlotte, NC (Grandchildren – Bailey, Olivia and Alex). Rhonda & Tim Almarode – Dublin. (Grandchildren – Jordan & Ashley) Special Kitty Companion-Sadie Mae.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM – Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Paul Goshorn officiating. The visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.at the funeral home. A private family entombment will be held at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Pulaski VFW Post # 1184 or the Newbern Methodist Church, P.O. Box 427, Newbern, VA. 24126.
