Phillips, Jr. Luther (Bumper)

Luther Calloway Phillips, Jr. (better known as Bumper) 38, of Brickyard Road, Pembroke, departed this life Saturday evening, November 16, 2013 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg after a long illness. Born in Chicago, Illinois on January 16, 1975, he was a son of the late Luther Sr. and Bonnie Sue Justice Phillips.

He had made his home for some time with his sister at Pembroke. He was preceded in death by his brothers Michael Craig Phillips and David Lee Phillips.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Melanie Branham Phillips and his daughter Barbara Ann Phillips both of Iaeger, WV; his sisters Sheila and husband Tom Clemons of Pembroke, Angie and husband Marty Carter of Gastonia, NC, Kimberly Mounts of Richlands; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday at 6:00 pm in Calvary Christian Church, Castle Rock Drive, Pembroke with Pastor David Kessinger officiating. The family will receive friends at the service.
