Phillips, Jacob Coburn
Jacob Coburn Phillips, 16, of Floyd, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013. He was an upcoming Junior at Floyd County High School, he played football for the Floyd County Buffalos, he was an avid Hunter and loved fishing and skateboarding. He enjoyed playing video games, movies and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Theron A. Phillips and James G. Slusser; and an aunt, Patsy G. Phillips. He is survived by his mother, Dolly Phillips Conner, of Floyd; his father, Glen “Barry” Slusser, of Christiansburg; his grandmothers, Agnes C. Phillips, of Floyd, and Virginia “Sally” Slusser, of Christiansburg; his brothers, Zachery Conner and Christina Galanes, of Bedford, and Joshua and Ashley Conner, of Floyd; his sisters, Kelsey C. Slusser and Ryleigh N. Williams, of Christiansburg; soon to be nephew, Jasper Allen Conner; special uncles and aunts, Joe and Peggy Quesenberry, and Kenny and Nancy Page, of Christiansburg; uncles and aunts, Mark and Teresa Slusser, of Christiansburg, Bob and Tammy Falter, of Luray; special cousins, Kristy Orange, Brittney and Mikey Howell, Joey and Emily Kaylor, and their daughter Lavannah Kaylor, Bradley Newbie; a special friend, Jacob Nester; and many other cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Bentley Jr. and the Rev. Michael Pugh officiating, Interment to follow at the White Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Mayberry Funeral H ome.
