Phillips, Eunice Ridpath
Eunice Ridpath Phillips, 86, of Snowville, passed away Friday, August 17, 2007. She was born October 26, 1920 the daughter of the late Jake Ernest and Ada Teel Ridpath.
She was a devoted Christian as well as wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed as the first secretary at Snowville Elementary School and later she was employed at Lynchburg Foundry as a payroll clerk and Central Lumber Co. as the bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Drexil Hollis Phillips, sister Iva Ridpath Phillips, brothers-in-law Cecil Clinton Phillips, Sr. and R. J. Shelburne, and nephew Cecil Clinton Phillips, Jr.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Richard Catron of Dublin; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Diana Phillips of Snowville; two grandsons, Chad Steven Phillips and Cody Wyatt Phillips; and a sister, Edna Ridpath Shelburne of Snowville; nieces Maxine Shelburne Dishon of Dublin and Lotus Jade Phillips of Claytor Lake; nephew and his wife Rodney and Nancy Shelburne of Snowville; and many other relatives.
The family would like to give special thanks to Judy Epperly and her staff at the Beulah House for their kindness and professionalism. Also to Betty Guynn, family friend and Ruth Stuart, hospice nurse.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday August 20, 2007 at Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Don Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Beulah House, 4704 Caddell Lane, Dublin, VA 24084.
