Phillips, David Leonard

David Leonard Phillips, Sr., 58, of Harrison Lane in Pearisburg departed this life Friday evening at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.

Born in Charleston, WV on March 14, 1949, he was a son of the late Leonard and Edith Phipps Powers. David before his retirement due to illness had been a teacher at Arcadia Christian Center School in Florida and General Manager of Mint Springs Water Co. in West Virginia, and had served as Deacon at First Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Paulette Harrison Phillips; a son and daughter-in-law David L., II and Lori Akers Phillips of Snowville; two daughters and sons-in-law Tamara P. and John R. Poole of Parrish, Florida, Jessica P. and Zachary J. Adams of Evington; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday June 18th at 11:00 AM in The Kendall Funeral Home Chapel at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in David?s memory to the charity of choice.
