Phillips, Carl J.

Carl J. Phillips, 73, of Christiansburg, Va. passed away on Monday, October 15, 2007.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Phillips; and a brother, James Phillips; and his wife, Dorothy M. Phillips.

He was a veteran having served in the Air Force, retired from Corning Glass Works, and a beloved member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Christine Phillips; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Mark Salmon; granddogs, Lea and Nina; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Alan Taylor and Charlie Taylor. Special thanks to Stan Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 834 Ellett Road, Christiansburg with the Rev. Stan Thompson officiating.
