Dallas Shockley Phibbs, 87, of Pulaski went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born in Carroll Co. on March 31, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Eliza Alderman Shockley and William Author Shockley. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ray Eads, a son, Jackie Phibbs, two daughters-in-law, Patricia Warden Phibbs and Karey Jarrells Phibbs, and by two brothers, Dewey Shockley and Delman Shockley.

Mrs. Phibbs was a retired operator for Lee Jeans.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Douglas James Phibbs, Pulaski; daughter, Doris June Eads, Pulaski; sons, James “Jim” Phibbs and wife and special daughter, Gayle, Pulaski, Larry Wayne Phibbs, Pulaski; special adopted son, Dean Bain and wife, Susan, Richlands, NC; sister, Estelle Branscome, Mt. Airy, NC; grandchildren, Kenneth “Ken” Eads, James “Jimmy” Phibbs and wife, Karen, Hope Dalton and husband, Mark, Christopher “Chris” Phibbs and wife, Kellie; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Daniele Phibbs, Caileigh Alexis Phibbs, Bryson Duane Dalton, Morgen Shea Dalton, Nicholas Connor Phibbs.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Johnny Howlett and Rev. Lawrence Nuckolls officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Friday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, VA.
