Buford Petty, age 80 of Brookmont Road, Pulaski passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born October 31, 1928 in Wythe County, Virginia, he was the son of the late James Buford Petty and Effie Pauley Crowder, In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Alberta Turner Petty, and three sons, Charles Petty, Pete Petty and Mike Petty.

Mr. Petty was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II with the Occupational Force in Germany. He was retired from Pulaski Furniture Company in the Maintenance Dept. with over 20 years of service.

Surviving- Two Daughters and Son-in-law-

Barbara Petty and fiancé, Freddie Bell-Pulaski, Ruth and Larry Gallimore -Pulaski,

One Son and daughter-in-law-

Mickey and Bertha Petty-Pulaski,

Ten Grandchildren, Eighteen Great Grandchildren, Four Great Great Grandchildren,

Half Brother- Ellis Kincer and wife, Geneva Kincer-Dublin, Half Sister- Alverta “Sissy” Holston and husband, Butch Holston-Pulaski,

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Pulaski Christian Church, Brookmont Road, Pulaski with Pastor David Hoover officiating. Interment will follow at the Ray Cemetery, Pulaski with military honors conducted by the Pulaski V.F.W. Post # 1184. His Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service hour at the church.
