Peters, Sadie Craighead

Sadie Peters, beloved sister, aunt, and great great aunt passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021, in Sumpter County, Florida.

She was a graduate of Check High School in Floyd County, Virginia. Sadie was a retired inspector for the textile industry and retired to Copper Hill. For many winters she lived in Fort Pierce, Florida and attended Parkview Baptist Church, where she made many friends. She lived the last seven years in Ocala, Florida.

Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Eldridge and Susie Wilson Craighead and her husband, Jessie Huie Peters.

She is survived by her sisters, Ina Walters of Salem and Rheba Cooper of Ocala, Florida; niece, Kathy (Larry) Popeil and Ocala Florida; nephews, Gary (Cindy) Cooper of Fort Pierce, Florida, Robert ( Lisa) Craighead, Richard (Annette) Craighead, and Neil Walters, as well as many grand and great grand nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Vest Cemetery, 432 Cypress Dr. SE, Floyd, Virginia. Online condolences may be made at Gardnerfuneralhomefloyd.com or on Facebook @Gardnerfuneralhomefloyd. The family is being served by Gardner Funeral Home.
