Perry Sr., Norman Edward

Norman Edward Perry Sr., 82, of Christiansburg, formally of Matoaka, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Heritage Hall in Blacksburg. Born November 19, 1933 in Matoaka he was the son of the late John Martin Perry and Nell Virginia Boyd Perry.

After graduating from Matoaka High School he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the A&P Store in Virginia Beach, after thirty five years of service. He was owner-operator of the Citgo Store in Bluewell and owner-operator of The Hale House Bed and Breakfast in Princeton for several years before moving to Blacksburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana DeLung Perry; and one sister, Carolyn Perry. He is survived by his children, Norman E. Perry Jr. of Virginia Beach, Richard Perry (Susan) of Suffolk, Russell Scott Perry of Starke, Fla., and Deirdre Lynn Perry of Waldo, Fla.; one grandson, James Joseph Ziesler Jr.; and one great-granddaughter, Lillian Marie; two sisters, Sylvia Bailey of Princeton and Linda Carol Perry of Mechanicsville.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Reverend Scott Sears officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from Noon until the service hour on Friday.
