Perkins, Alice Lucado

Alice Louise Lucado Perkins, 86, of Pearisburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at Giles Memorial Hospital. She was born March 31, 1922, at Staffordsville, Va., the daughter of the late David Garland and Annie Christmas Sartin Lucado.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene James Perkins; sons, David Eugene Perkins and Roy Lee (Tommy) Perkins; daughter, Lucy St.Clair.

She attended Shaver Memorial Church.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-inlaw, Walter and Barbara Perkins, Pearisburg, Bill and Helena Perkins, Richmond, Janette Perkins, Pearisburg; one brother, Walter H. Lucado, Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the A.Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. David Cope officiating. Burial in the Anderson Cemetery at Mt. View near Pearisburg. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
