Perfater, Betty Ritter
Betty Ritter (Boo) Perfater, 61, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at her home. She was born in Welch, W.Va., on July 5, 1948, to the late Wendell H. Sr. and Mary Ann Ritter, and was also preceded in death by six brothers, Robert C. Ritter, Arvill S. Ritter, John I Ritter, Wallace E. Ritter, Oscar J. Ritter, and Timothy W. Ritter; a brother-in-law, Dale Womack; and a grandson, Gary A. Bland.
Betty loved life and her joy in life was her family. She loved to read books, work puzzles, and talk politics with friends. She will be forever missed by all of her loved ones. “Mom, we miss you and you will never be forgotten.” God Bless.
She is survived by her husband, Jessie Morris Perfater Sr.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and John Kirtner, and Laura and Ron Collins; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jesse M. Perfater Jr., and Nelson and Jan Perfater; a sister, Margaret R. Hancock; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Perfater; a brother and sister-in-law, Wendell H. Jr. and Daisy Ritter; sisters-inlaw, Diane Womack, Roziland Ritter, Nancy Ritter and Judy Ritter; grandchildren, Derek Bland, Jessica Perfater (and sisters Jordan and Jasmine), Deidre Kirtner, Jeremy Perfater, Allison Perfater, Brandon Collins, Megan Perfater, and Courtney Perfater; great-grandchild, Alyssa Bland; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2010, in the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jerry Sloss and the Rev. Randy Woolwine officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Friends may call anytime after noon on Thursday, December 31, 2009, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
