Norma Jean Viars Perdue, 66, of Wilmington, N.C. formerly of Radford, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007. She was born December 7, 1940, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Louise Bentley Viars. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Chandler.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Irvin Willard Perdue of Wilmington, N.C.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Bruce Orange of Riner and Lori Anne Perdue of Radford; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Karen Perdue of Pilot; two brothers, Ed Viars of Radford and Ted Viars of Salem; and seven grandchildren, Heather Hutchison, Leslie Gilbert, Ian Franklin, Jessica St. Clair, Lyndsey Perdue, Caleb Perdue, Mason McDaniel, and Layne Sage; three greatgrandchildren, Nickalous Hutchison, Steven Hutchison, and Sebastian St. Clair.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. John Tibbs officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, September 26, 2007 at the funeral home.
