“This world is not my home, I’m just passing through”
Evelyn Helms Perdue, our loving Ebe, 89, died at her home on April 7, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Pack Perdue.

Left to cherish her memory, her daughters, Judy Perdue Poff and Janis Perdue Wilfore; two grandchildren, Vicki Poff Wright and Joey Poff and their families, Patrick, Courtney and Paige Wright and Amanda, Ella and Luke Poff; a special niece Linda Wood and great nephew Benjamin Wood; two sister-in-laws, Eva (Sug) Perdue McCoy and Ola Howery Perdue; and many close nieces and nephews.

She was a gracious lady who loved and guided many in her life and was always there to support anyone who was in need. Her faith was never a burden and provided strength to her and many others for a better place in life.

Ebe was the last surviving member of a large and loving family, Lee Dickerson Helms and Watt Helms; sisters and brothers, Mary Woods, Edith Reed, Maxie Martin, Jewel Raines, Nell Quigley Waggoner, Ervin Helms, Elbert Helms, Les Helms, Harry Helms, June Helms, and Willard Helms.

Visitation will be held at McCoy’s Funeral Home on Monday, April 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 10 at the North Fork Baptist Church in Ellett Valley at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Fred Brugger and the Rev. Olen Gardner officiating and graveside at Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Resource Center, 1217 Grove Ave., Radford, Va. 24141 or the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 762, Christiansburg, Va. 24073.
