Perdue, Dorothy Hager

amem_snowy_woods.jpgDorothy Hager Perdue, 81, our beloved mother, departed this life on January 31, 2008, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born on November 14, 1926, in Bland County and was the daughter of the late Lake and Elsie Burton Hager.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Buss” Perdue; one brother, Carless Hager; one infant brother,  one infant sister, two granddaughters: Carrie Renee Perdue and Cynthia Blankenship, and a son-in-law, J.D. Blankenship.

She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Sue Blankenship; two sons, David and Lee Perdue; a brother and his wife, Edison and Carol Hager; four sisters, Cleatis Burton and husband, Richard, Alma Hale and husband, Doc, Katherine Bowles, and Cora Leftwich; one sister-in-law, Polly Hager, all of Narrows; five grandsons; two granddaughters; one granddaughter-in-law, Karen Blankenship; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 3, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service, Inc., in Narrows, with the Rev. Terry Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery on Wolf Creek. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
