Perdue, Bernard “Bunny” Leon

amem-winter-cottageBernard “Bunny” Leon Perdue, 72, of Blacksburg , departed this life on January 23, 2015. Bunny was born in the Luster’s Gate Community of Blacksburg on January 8, 1943 and was the sixth of seven children of the late Houston Thomas and Margie Morehead Perdue.

Bunny was a professional carpet installer and after retirement enjoyed being a handyman to his many friends and family.

He was also preceded death by his parents and his brothers Raymond, Gale, Clyde and a brother-in-law, Jim Roark. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Erika Perdue of Christiansburg, Missy and Darrell Musselman of Christiansurg, Denise and Mike Thornhill of Dublin; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Roark of Blacksburg, Hattie Sue and husband, David Dove of Christiansburg; brother, Glenn Perdue and wife, Frances of Ellet; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Perdue of Pembroke, Shirley Perdue Price of Christiansburg; and a bunch of nieces and nephews (that thought the world of him).

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.Gary McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg, In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Evans Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073. Friends may call anytime after 12:00 noon Sunday and the family will receive friends from 4-6:00 pm Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
