Craig Robert Pennington, 27, of Bluefield, W.Va., and formerly of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Monday, July 14, 2008.

He was preceded in death by one great-grandmother, and two grandmothers. Craig went to Christiansburg High School and was employed by his surviving father, Douglas Pennington, of Bluefield, W.Va.. In addition to his father, he is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ava and Harry “HB” Bayne, of Christiansburg, Va.; brothers, David Lee Mauk, of Bland Va., Gary Wayne Bayne, of Shawsville, Evan Neal Pennington, of Haynesville, Va., and Joseph Dana Bayne and wife, Amanda, of Christiansburg, Va.; two sisters, Sheila Ann Mauk, of Roanoke, Va., and Casey Marie Vaught, of Princeton, W.Va.; grandmother, Hazel D. Jayne, of Roanoke, Va.; and grandfather, Robert Pennington, of Athens, W.Va.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will accept family and friends on Friday, July 18, 2008, at Craven Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va., from 6 to 8 p.m. and immediate family at 5 p.m.

Funeral and burial will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008, at the Bayne Cemetery at 1356 Craig’s Mountain Road, Christiansburg Va. Pastor Ron Graham and Dallas Payton will be officiating at the service. The family requests live flowers or donations to the New Life Substance Abuse Center of Dublin, Va.
