George Edward Pearson, 70, of Pearisburg, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg. Mr. Pearson was born on February 4, 1941, to the late Harry K. and Juanita J. Pearson. In addition to his mother and father, he was proceeded in death by his siblings, Naomi Pearson and Julia Forte. He retired from the Celanese Celco plant with 34 years of service as the Lab Shift Supervisor. George is survived by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn F. Pearson, of Pearisburg; a daughter, Sophia Timberlake and husband, Roger, of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, George “Eddie” Pearson II and wife, Claudette, of Charlotte, N.C.; a granddaughter, Morgan Timberlake; two grandsons, Christopher and Chadwick Pearson; two sisters, Joyce Parks and husband, David, of Blacksburg, and Francis Holmes and husband, William, of London, W.Va.; a brother, Douglas Pearson and wife, Sharon, of Laurel, Md.; two sisters-in-law, Yvonne Jones, of Bluefield, W.Va., and Elaine Lutz, of Willowton, W.Va.; two brothers-in-law, K.C. Ford and wife, Cathy, and Vince Ford and wife, Kathy, both of Willowton; an uncle, Silas Jones, of Pearisburg; two aunts, Lois Jones, of Roanoke, and Pearlene Smith, of Radford; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Saunders Grove Baptist Church in the Kelly’s Tank Community at Willowton, W.Va., with the Rev. Earl Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Saunders Grove Baptist Church on Friday, September 30, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saunders Grove Baptist Church, 180 Saunders Grove Road, Princeton, WV 24739, in memory of Mr. Pearson.
