Paxton, Jon Mitchell

Jon Mitchell Paxton, 43, of Riner, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2007.

He is survived by his parents, Ken Paxton of Christiansburg; Marilyn Paxton of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brothers and sister-in-law, Jeff Paxton of Christiansburg, Kip and Katie Paxton of Lexington, S.C.; stepmother, Patricia Paxton of Christiansburg; stepbrother, Chris Wilkinson of Christiansburg; nephew, Benje Paxton of Greenville, S.C.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and friends.

Jon was a graduate of Riverside High School in Greer, S.C. where he received an award for outstanding golf performance. He attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. Jon’s interests included fishing, golf and woodworking.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home with Dr. David Goodpasture officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, Va. 22038-1131.
