Pauley, John Doyle

John Doyle Pauley, age 89, of McCoy died Friday, February 20, 2015 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born in Sod, West Virginia on December 23, 1925 to the late John Oley and Stella Dunlap Pauley.

John retired from the Virginian Railroad and the First Virginia Bank of the Southwest and was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. John was also a member of the Hunters Lodge #156-AF&AM with sixty five years of service, a Life Member of the Longshop-McCoy Fire and Rescue Squad and a founding member of the Community Christian Church, McCoy, VA.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Albert Pauley; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry P. and Robert Sonnessa; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Belinda Pauley, all of McCoy; sister, Mary Louise Pauley of St. Albans, WV; grandchildren, Michael Harmon Pauley, John Curtis Pauley, Megan Renee Pauley, Whitney Sonnessa Armor, Kelsea Cheray Sonnessa, Erin Nicole Sonnessa; great-grandchild, Jonah Lee Armor; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Community Christian Church in McCoy, VA with Mr. David Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Albert Family Cemetery with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Longshop-McCoy Fire and First Aid, Box 489, McCoy VA 24111. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW, Blacksburg with Masonic Services to begin at 7:30 pm.
