Survivors include his daughter, Jane Patton Claypool and her husband, John Claypool, of Bowling Green, Ky.; and his sons, Michael Sterlin Patton and his wife, Janice Yearout-Patton, of Floyd, Va., and Carl Phillip Patton, of Montgomery, Texas; three granddaughters, Samantha Redmon and her husband, Ken, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Amber Catherine Patton, of Floyd, Va., and Erin Yearout-Patton and her husband, Matthew Montgomery, of Powhatan, Va.; great-grandson, Elliott Michael Yearout-Patton, of Floyd, Va.; three greatgrandsons, Tanner Sutherlin Redmon and Tucker Dotson Redmon, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., and Malachi Clarence Montgomery, of Richmond, Va. Funeral Services celebrating the life of Sterlin R. Patton will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, October 16, 2010, at the James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro, Ky., with burial following in the Mt. Cannel Church Cemetery near Owensboro. Wood Funeral Home in Floyd, Va., is in charge of local arrangements.
