Patterson, Mary Stephenson

Mary Edith Lucille Patterson, 89, of Pearisburg, VA, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital. She was born June 17, 1930 at Bradley, TN, the daughter of the late David McConnell & Elsie Freeman Stephenson.

She loved the Lord and testified his love to everyone she met. Her passion was for her family, especially her grandchildren, to be saved and to have a personal relationship with the Lord. She didn’t leave a job undone and was praying to the Lord she loved and served when she passed into His care.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Patterson, her daughters & sons-in-law, Loretta & Kenneth Saunders, Linda & Larry Hardy and Stephanie Patterson and her granddaughter, Robin Nestor.

Left to cherish her memory are her son & daughter-in-law, Stephen & Julie Patterson; her daughters & sons-in-law, Sandra & Bill Bisker and Diane & Loyd Breedlove; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren; her brother & sister-in-law, Eli Grafton (“Buddy”) & Norma Stephenson; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Bro. Jeff Peters officiating. Burial will follow in the Patterson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P.M.
