Patterson, George Westbrook

George Westbrook Patterson, 72, of Christiansburg, departed this life Thursday, February 21, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. Born in Maryville, Tenn. on February 22, 1946 he was a son of the late Lake Edward and Veone Westbrook Patterson.

He earned his BS from The University of Tennessee and his MS from The University of Virginia. George was employed as the HR Manager at Marshall Concrete and was a member of Pembroke First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jonathan Boone Patterson; and his brother, John Patterson. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 17 years, Debbie Dunn Patterson; his daughter, Laura Patterson of Bowling Green, Ky.; his stepsons, David Kyle Dufault and wife Leslie of Chesapeake, Va., and Daniel Martin Dufault of Denver, Colo.; his brothers, Robert Patterson and wife Mary of Douglasville, Ga., and Nathan Patterson and wife Carol of Maryville, Tenn.; and his granddaughter, Victoria Graycen Dufault.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1 p.m. in Pembroke First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr Fred Austin and the Rev. Lane Spigener officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
