Parks, Henry Clay

Henry Clay (Buster) Parks, 89, of 2069 Twin Oaks, Pulaski, Va., departed for his Heavenly home Monday, March 24, 2008. He was born May 9, 1918, to the late Verlia Parks, of Bristol, Va., and Robert Parks, of Princeton, W.Va.

Mr. Parks accepted Christ at a young age and joined the Pulaski Church of God where he has been a faithful member for over 55 years. He was an employee of the RCA Company, Pulaski Furniture Corporation and Sears. He retired from the Sears Company in 1984.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Iola Monetti and Myrtle Parris; brother, Blaine E. Parks; daughters, Brenda P. Martin and Connie Day; and grandson, Scott Jones.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Helen T. Parks, Pulaski; daughters, Betty P. Frazier and husband, Rudell, Pulaski, Patricia P. Willis and fiance, Richard Young, Pulaski; son-in-law, Howard D. Martin, Pulaski; brothers, Ted D. Parks, Bristol, Va., and Robert B. Parks, Richmond, Va.; sister, Frances Mercer, Marion; granddaughters, Lisa M. Brewer and husband, Stacy, Palatine, Ill., Michelle W. Kitts and husband, Ranny Jr., Pulaski, and Natasha Jones, Pulaski; grandson, Bradley K. Frazier and wife, Dianne, Great Lakes, Mich.; and 16 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, from the Bob White Boulevard Church of God with Pastor Jerry Collins and J.B. Kitts officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the service hour. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2008, from the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
