Parks, Evelyn A.

Evelyn A. Parks, 97, of Harrisburg, Pa., entered her eternal home on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Community General Hospital in Harrisburg, Pa. Evelyn was born in Fries, Va., on February 19, 1916, daughter of the late Luther J. Durham and Gertrude Waddell.

She was a graduate of Fries High School and an operator and supervisor with the Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, Pa.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Parks, of Dublin, Va.; and her son, Travis B. Parks, of York, Pa. Surviving is her daughter-in- law, Peggy Hess, of York, Pa.; her grandchildren, the Rev. Dr. S. Ronald Parks ,of Harrisburg, Pa., Scott R. Parks, and Mindy B. Parks, of York, Pa.; her great-grandsons, Dylon T. Parks, of Milton, Del., and Ian G. Parks, of Los Angeles, Calif.; and her great-great- grandson, Ethan Phillip Parks, of Milton, Del.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Dublin United Methodist Church in Dublin, Va., with a visitation being held from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens on Lee Highway in Dublin, Va.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of Dublin United Methodist Church, 424 E. Main St., Dublin, VA 24084.
