Parker, Lettie Marie Vaughn

Lettie Marie Vaughn Parker, 73, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born on July 14, 1938. Lettie bravely struggled against her illness as she continued to be a loving wife and mother. She spent much of her life caring for others and most recently retired from her job at Falling Branch Elementary School, a job she loved. She was predeceased by her parents, Elsie Gautier Vaughn and William Jake Vaughn; and siblings, Blanche Blankenship, Jack Blankenship and June Vaughn. Lettie is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bobby Gene Parker, of Christiansburg; daughters, Sharon L. Stoots, of Dublin, Karen L. Wilson and husband, Donnie, of Christiansburg, and Patty J. Bandy, of Christiansburg; son, Joe Parker and wife, Cindy, of Christiansburg. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brooks Stoots, of Dublin, Brittaney Bandy, Jake Wilson, Kennedy Wilson, J.P. Parker, Dawn Parker and Jessica Parker, all of Christiansburg; sisters, Louise Worrell, of Norfolk, Va., and Dawn Bowman, of Dublin; special cousin, Jesse Cooper, of Connecticut; nieces and nephews; and her loving pet, “Troubles.” The family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
