Dr. James Lacy Parker, age 86, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at the Springfield Center in Lindside, WV. Born September 22, 1931, in Greenville, WV, he was the son of the late William Oscar and Lura Hall Parker.

Dr. Parker was a minister and served as a missionary in the Philippines for over 45 years, he was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, VA, and he was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Amalia Koch Parker; one son, James Dean Parker; and five sisters, Ruth Hawks, Madeline Ford, Nora Mann, Martha Miller, and Laura Parker. Survivors include one daughter, Patti Arboneda and husband Weng of Peterstown, WV; two brothers, Oscar Dean Parker of Fayetteville, NC, and William Byrd Parker of Arizona; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, VA, with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating.
