parcell_joyce.jpgJoyce Vaught Parcell, 78, died on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the home of her son and daughter in law, Tony and Deborah Parcell. She was born September 18, 1940 in Narrows (Wolf Creek) Virginia, the daughter of the late Jess Henderson Vaught and Grace Stanley Vaught.

Joyce was a stay-at-home mom surrounded by her children and the multitude of friends visiting her children. She always had an open door for her extended family and friends with lots of good food and fun times. She later became an employee of Celanese and worked until her health forced retirement.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Lynn Meadows. Seven sisters, Mae Reed, Marie Spicer, Louise Roughton, Lucille Thomas, Betty Booth, Martha Beasley and Annabelle Meadows; six brothers, Earl, Virgil, Clifford, Clarence, Cecil and Jack Vaught.

Survivors include her sons, Tony Parcell and wife Deborah of Wolf Creek, and Greg Parcell of Narrows. Two sisters, Ruth Stuart of Radford, Va. and Rachel Herman of Thomasville, N.C.; four brothers, Bill Vaught of Rich Creek, Va., Maury Vaught of Ripplemead, Va., Charles Vaught of Princeton, W.Va. and Jess Vaught of Winston Salem, N.C. Survivors also include numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Each one was an important part of her life and she loved endlessly.

Family is in the care of Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, Va. with family visitation at 12 noon Thursday, June 27, 2019. Friends visitation at 1:00 pm and funeral services to begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tony Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Wolf Creek, Va.

Our hearts are broken but we know she has gone home. Moms always keep us safe, no matter which side of life is home.
