Stella A. Pappas, 95, of Pulaski, Va., passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010. She was born on February 2, 1915, in Chryssou, Evrytanias, Greece. She was a homemaker and a restaurant owner. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Roanoke, and of its Ladies Philoptochos Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, George K. Pappas; her parents; and several sisters and brothers in Greece. Surviving are her daughters, Eva (Constantine) Collis, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Helen (James) Aust, of Pulaski; grandchildren, Dr. William (Linda) Collis, Angelyn (Paul) Slone, Elene (Christopher) Stratton, and Georgianna (Matthew) Wright; great-grandchildren, Reid Collis, Conrad Slone, Sophia Slone, Melina Slone, Elliana Stratton, Alexios Stratton, and Matthias Wright; sisters, Soula Gianopoulos, of Pulaski, and Elizabeth Constantinidou, of Athens, Greece; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dreama Chrisley. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010, from Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Father Dean Nastos officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. Visiting will be held on Wednesday evening, July 28, 2010, from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 7 p.m. The family wishes that memorials be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 5055, Roanoke, Va. 24012. The family would like to thank the staff of Pulaski Community Hospital and Pulaski Rehab Center for the care and kindness they have shown our mother.
