Pappas, Nicholas John

Nicholas “Nick” John Pappas, 77, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home in Radford. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was a U. S. Marine who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Radford University where he was a Political Science professor. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Nicholas and Alvina Chalmers Pappas.

Survivors include his wife of almost 51 years, Pamela Pappas; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark Chalmers and Karen Pappas, of Wardensville, W.Va.; grandchildren, Samantha, John Lucas, Kimberly, Leann and Logan; brother and sister-in-law, Michael James and Hope Pappas, of Arrington; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017, at Central United Methodist Church, 803 Wadsworth St., Radford. Funeral services will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Don Shelor officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the Greenfield Cemetery in Wardensville, W.Va.
