Peggy Sue Gordon Jones Palmer, of Fairlawn, passed away peacefully at Lewis-Gale Salem Hospital on Sunday, December 6, 2015 and met her Lord and Savior. She is now resting in the arms of Jesus and walking the streets of gold, now that her work here on earth is done.

Peggy was born in Bluefield, W.Va., graduated from Christiansburg High School in 1957 and retired in 1999 from Riverlawn Elementary School as the cafeteria manager.

She loved her family, friends, and spending time with everyone. Peggy was a people person, she loved to be out and about and she never met a stranger. She loved to smile, dance, laugh, and she enjoyed life to its fullest. She enjoyed going to the Motor Mile Speedway, NRCC Fiddler Banjo Club, the Floyd Country Store, and many other places. She was also a daily viewer of the soap opera, “The Young and the Restless”. She was known as “Me Maw” and “MiMi” to her grandchildren. She served as Treasurer at her church she loved so very much for many years. She was so blessed by knowing each of you and being a part of your lives.

Peggy is preceded in death by her late husband, Carl Rudolph Jones; an infant daughter; one son, Anthony Blair Jones; her parents, Walter B. Gordon and Edna P. Gordon King; and two brothers, Kyle and Joe Daniel Gordon.

Peggy had many cousins, nephews, nieces, loving in-laws, a wonderful church family, terrific neighbors, and many friends.
