Herbert Lee “Knobby” Palmer, 75, of Draper, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in Pulaski Health and Rehab Center, Pulaski. He was born in West Virginia Aug. 1, 1935 and was the son of the late Robert Earnest Palmer and Ethel Seagle Palmer. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Polly Osborne, and two brothers, Billy and Jack Palmer.

Mr. Palmer was a member of the Draper United Methodist Church and was a retired employee from Coca-Cola, having worked there for 22 years.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Palmer of Draper; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Mike Tickle of Oklahoma City. Okla.; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Sandra Palmer of Wytheville; sister-in-law, Dorothy Palmer, Pulaski; brothers-in-law and spouses, Clyde and Louise Chinault of Pulaski, the Rev. Earnest Chinault of Draper, Johnny and Mona Chinault of Pulaski and Billy and Hallie Chinault of King, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 23, at 11 a.m. from the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County, with the Rev. Earnest Chinault officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, however, the family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to Draper United Methodist Church.
