Palmer, Elizabeth Dunn (Betty)

Elizabeth Dunn (Betty) Palmer, 84, of Riner, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 31, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobart and Mabel Dunn; her husband, Fred S. Palmer; sons, Fred Palmer Jr. and Richard Palmer; and sisters, Patty Broyles and Agnes Crawford. She is survived by her children, Sandra Palmer Moye and husband, Orley Junior, and Beth Palmer Burbage and husband, Barry; grandchildren, Christy Shivell, Fred Palmer III, David Palmer, Matthew Palmer, William Palmer, Jesse Palmer Lloyd, Anna Elizabeth Moye, and Jeremiah Palmer; three greatgrandchildren; a dog named “Mandy;” and many dear friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at the Horne Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Rhonda Hobbs officiating. Betty was a member of the Floyd United Methodist Church and she loved to quilt and garden but most of all spend time with her family.
