Palmer, Eleanor Hutton

amem_hummingbird.jpgEleanor Hutton Palmer, 80, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Marion, Va., on December 16, 1928, to the late Engle and Florence McCormick Hutton. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Patricia Palmer; a sister, Catherine Testerman; and a brother-inlaw, Earl Haga.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Palmer and Tommy Epperly, of Fairlawn, and Kathy and Larry Cook, of Christiansburg; two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Palmer, of Christiansburg, and Jamie and Pam Palmer, of Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Kelly Barbour and husband, Mike, Patrick Epperly and wife, Cara, Matthew Cook and wife, Christina, Lauren Cook, Christopher Palmer, and Jessica Palmer; sister, Jane Haga, of Youngsville, N.C.; brother-inlaw, Lacy Testerman, of Greensboro, N.C.; former husband, Patrick Palmer; and special niece and nephew, Teresa and Stevie.

Memorial services will be conducted 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2009, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Hight officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
