Mrs. Vada Mae Worrell Painter, 102 of Pearisburg, VA, formerly of Mt. Hope, WV and Peterstown, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Heritage Hall Rich Creek, VA. Mrs. Painter was born on November 28, 1913 in Floyd, VA, and was a daughter of the late William H. and Florence Ada Boyd Worrell.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Luther Martin Painter, one daughter, Joyce Ann Painter, three brothers, Ed, Ernie and Elmer Worrell, and four sisters, Delphia Davis, Deana Warden, Rosie Evans and Easter Clay.

Mrs. Painter was a housewife and enjoyed knitting, gardening and canning food for her family.

She is survived by, six sons, Audrey Neal Painter of Beckley, WV, Alfred Darrell (Patty) Painter of Beckley, WV, Ralph Martin (Sue) Painter of Port Richie, FL, John Shirley (Estrella) Painter of Corpus Christi, TX, Dr. Conley Houston (Carolyn) Painter of Pearisburg, Luther Ray (Romona) Painter of Salem, 5 daughters, Phyllis Gail Facello (Bill) Rutledge of Beckley, WV, Geraldine P (Hobart) Butler, Jr. of Covington, Ann Louise P (George) Yopp of Salem, JoAnn P (Raymond) Booth, Jr. of Peterstown, WV, and Dianna Lynn P (Barry Booth of Peterstown, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one sister, Lockie Davis Rakes of Beckley, WV.

Private graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 1:00pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Beckley, WV with Hobart Butler, Jr. officiating. Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.
