Page, Virgie Thomas

Virgie L. Thomas Page, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at her home. Born May 8, 1934, in Peterstown, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Sylvia Smith Thomas.

Virgie was a homemaker and a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was affiliated with the Lindside Christian Church and enjoyed bluegrass, gospel music, and Ralph Stanley, but above all, she loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Page; one son, Michael Page; one sister, Margie Lester; one son-in-law, Ralph Mitchell; and one daughter-in-law, Debbie Page.

Those left to cherish Virgie’s memory include five sons, Robert “Bubby” Page and wife Karen, Tommy Page, Joseph Page and wife Kim, Benjamin Page and companion Heather, all of Peterstown, WV, and Charles Page of California; four daughters, Jeanie Logan and husband James, Freda Powroznik and husband Tommy, all of Florida, Shelby Charlton and husband Ricky of Peterstown, WV, and Rita Mitchell and companion Buddy Spicer of Rich Creek, VA; one brother, David Thomas of Peterstown, WV; one sister, Vickie Ratliff and husband Jackson of Oakvale, WV; brother-in-law, Mike Lester of Narrows, VA; special friends whom she dearly loved, Trish, Charlie, and Cheyenne Collins of Rich Creek, VA, Angie Sisson of Peterstown, WV, and Jeanne Butler of Pearisburg, VA; fifteen grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.

Also, a special thank you from the rest of the family to Virgie’s daughter, Rita, and granddaughter, Christina “Dumplin”, for the excellent care they have provided Virgie for the past 26 years.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Williams Cemetery on Green Valley Road in Peterstown, WV, with Barry Harper officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV.
