John D. Page, 71, of Christiansburg, passed away on August 30, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, N.C.

John was born in Martham, England, to Les and Trudy Page. After completing courses at the National Foundry College, John had a long career in the foundry business in England, Holland, Denmark and the United States. He recently retired as Tooling Manager from Intermet New River Foundry in Radford.

He is survived by his loving wife, June A. Johnson. Surviving him are a sister, Maureen Ryall of New Zealand; brothers, Malcolm Page (deceased) and Kath, Tony Page and Carmen and Michaela Page and Caroline, all of England. David and Bertha Page of Arizona also survive him. Also mourning John’s passing are brother-in-law, Milo L. Johnson and wife, Janice of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and devoted friends, Jon and Karen Fleming and their children, Jennifer and Ben of Blacksburg.

Both June and John are very grateful to faithful and supportive friends, Richard and Vicky Helbling, Kenneth and Pat Paxton, all of Christiansburg and John and Cheryl Garpiel of Orlando, Florida.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 5, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow the visitation. June is encouraging and welcoming friends and family to honor John by telling a brief story or tribute about their friendship with John, both personal or business, during the Celebration of Life Service.
