Padgett, Terri McAlister
Terri McAlister Padgett, age 46 of Christiansburg, VA, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2022 to be with her Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with cancer.
Terri “Te-Te” was best known for her passionate commitment to her children. The activities and interests of Madison, Mac, and Emma, were the primary focus of her time and attention. Terri took great pride in watching them perform and excel in activities like gymnastics, football, lacrosse, track, and cheerleading from sandlot and rec league through college. Terri loved following the local high school teams and supported the players and coaches. She loved tailgating at Hokie games with friends and family. Terri was a creative cook with a gift for baking cakes for special occasions. Her creative talents were also shown in the incredible Halloween costumes she made for her children.
Terri had a kind and caring heart for others. Her home was always open to all who knew her as “T-Dawg.” Her heart and home were also filled with love for the special dogs she had throughout her life – Winnie, Julie, Sadie, and Stetson. Terri’s heart was her guide, which kept her unafraid from living her life on her own terms. Terri found her home away from home in Myrtle Beach.
She was preceded in passing by her maternal grandparents, Avria E. and Mattie Hall, paternal grandparents, Jim and Peggy McAlister, and special cousin Matthew Legg.
She is survived by her three children, Madison “Maddie” Padgett, Jeffrey “Mac” Padgett, and Emerson “Emma” Padgett. She is also survived by her sister, Jordan Aldrich and nephews Jaden and Jase, of Henrico, VA as well as her parents, Jim and Sue McAlister of Christiansburg. Surviving aunts and uncles are Jane and Terry Bradbery, Chester, VA; Chelsea Hall, Christiansburg, VA; Tim and Kim Hall, Dublin, VA; Patty and Dave Conner, Dublin, VA; Terry and Vickie Hall, Jacksonville, FL; Avria Hall and Kathy Henderson, Blacksburg, VA; Larry and Bonnie Hall, Dublin, VA. Cousins Amanda Bradbery; Alex Hoback; Maggie Hoback; Tyler Hall; Emilie Hall; Tiffany Strickland; Tyke Hall and wife, Jen; Travis Hall; Toby Hall and wife, Ali; Kris Legg and husband, Matt; David Conner and wife, Stephanie; Rebecca Conner; Ken Hall and wife, Jan; and Jason Hall and wife, Katie.
The family wishes to express our sincere gratitude for the love and care provided to Terri by the nurses and staff of Carilion New River Valley Medical Center and Carilion Hospice.
Terri’s family will celebrate her life on Saturday, June 18th from 4-7 pm at Windy Hills Farm, 1698 Rustic Ridge Road, Riner, VA. All who would like to remember Terri are welcome to join us as you are able.
