Pack, Donald Preston

Donald Preston Pack, 95 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Mr. Pack was born on May 12, 1923 in Giles County, VA and was a son of the late Alonzo Pack and Annie Mable Echols Pack.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister. Mr. Pack attended Pembroke High School, (Corn Cutters) and was WWII U.S. Marine Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a former employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows, an avid baseball fan and loved his vegetable garden.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Margaret Beatrice Phlegar Pack of Pearisburg, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 21, 2018 at 1PM at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Pastor Mike Hewitt officiating with burial following in the South West Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin at 2pm.
