Owens, Kermit Ray

Kermit Ray Owens, 81, of Dublin, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the Pulaski Health Care Center. Born October 14, 1929 in West Jefferson, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Pinkney Fair Owens and Emma Houche Owens.

He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Bertha Owens; son, Kenneth Owens; grandson, Michael Christopher Sowers; son-in-law, Michael Ray Sowers; two sisters; and five brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Dishon Owens of Dublin; children, Debra Sowers of Dublin, and Eric Owens of Roanoke; granddaughter, Michelle Gallimore; and great-grandsons, Austin, Ethan and Christopher Gallimore.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Neil Wood officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
