Owens, George Jackson

George Jackson Owens, 68, of Dublin, passed away Thursday evening, July 9, 2009, at his home.

Surviving are: his wife, JoAnn Crowder Owens, Dublin; children and spouses, Jeannie and Mike Hopkins, Dublin, John Owens, Pulaski, Tina Huff, Pulaski, Jimmy and Missy Crowder, Wytheville; grandchildren and spouse, Sky and Derek Long, Snowville, Breeden Hopkins, Dublin, Haven Huff, Pulaski, Michael Huff, Pulaski; great-grandchild, Austin Parks; sisters and spouses, Jewell Abbott, Salem, Barbara and Henry Harrell, Lexington, N.C., Gay and Kenneth Moore, Thomasville, N.C., Nancy Owens, Lexington, N.C.; many nieces and nephews; special nephew and nieces, Thomas, Tori and Miranda Wade, all of Pulaski, Cody Harrell, Lexington, N.C.

Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting was held Saturday from the funeral home where the family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
