Owens, Alven

Alven Owens, age 46, of Mullens, WV, and formerly of Bozoo, WV, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born May 30, 1972, in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Helen Jewell Owens. Alven was a former employee at Pulaski Furniture, and loved to hunt and fish. He was a loving brother and uncle who cherished his nieces and nephews. Survivors include two sisters, Sharline Meadows and fiancé Tim Reed of Herndon, WV, and Rosie Lee of Peterstown, WV; four nieces and nephews; and five great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Rev. Brenda Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
