Edna Spradlin Overstreet, 102, born January 16, 1921, of Floyd County and formerly of Bedford County, Va., died on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Born near Stewartsville, Va., on January 16, 1921, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Overstreet; her parents, Lester M. and Mabel Ferguson Spradlin; her brothers and their wives, Clifton Spradlin (Nina), C.W. “Willie” Spradlin (Louise), Marvin Spradlin (Estelle), and Fred Spradlin (Edith); her twin sister, Elna Spradlin; and stepdaughter, Judith Overstreet Farmer (Harry).

She is survived by her daughter, Janet and husband, George W. Nester; granddaughter, Lara Nester Butler; stepson, Robert E. Overstreet (Kay); granddaughter, Lisa O. Lang (Travis); two great-granddaughters, Sara and Rylan Lang; and her nieces and nephews.

Edna was a lifetime member of Mays Memorial United Methodist Church in Stewartsville where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a multi-talented person and an inspiration to everyone she met.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Mays Memorial United Methodist Church, 1121 Oddfellows Road, Vinton, VA 24179, with Pastor Melanie Franklin officiating.
