Warner Johnson Osborne, 70, of Dublin, Va., died suddenly on Thursday, October 18, 2007 while fishing with his friends in Wythe County.

He was born December 24, 1936 in Independence, Va. and was the son of the late Agnes Johnson Osborne Hughes and Pascal Osborne. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a retired Special Agent for the Alcohol Beverage Control in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a recent member of the Fraternal Order of Police, a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church, and a very active member of the Henry Clay Masonic Lodge #280 A.F. & A.M. where he served as Master several times, was on the Board of Directors for the New River Valley Juvenile Detention Home, and was an active volunteer at the Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center where he enjoyed calling Bingo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Chuck Osborne and Buck Osborne. He is survived by his lovely wife, Louise Peterson Osborne of Dublin; one daughter, Tammy O. Carpenter and her husband, Roger, of Christiansburg; two sons, Allen Osborne and his wife, Yvonne, of Dublin and Jeffrey S. Osborne and his wife, Michelle, of Pembroke; one brother, Tommy Osborne of Elk Creek; two sisters, Sue Haga of Independence and Kaye Cox also of Independence. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Blake Osborne, Meaghan Headen, Heather Osborne and Hayden Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 3 p.m. at the Dublin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1 until 3 p.m. service time.
