Osborne, Robert Earl

Robert Earl Osborne, 87, of Christiansburg VA, went home to be with the Lord and join his love Betty Jo in heaven, on Saturday, October 1, 2016 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memory is one sister and brother-in-law Okey and Pricilla DeRaimo and their family, three daughters and sons-in-law, Steve and Marilou Akers, Jimmy and Barbara Pack, Mike and Ellen Harvey. Grandchildren, Josh and Sara Akers, Dawn and David Earles, Michelle and Rodney Smith, Michael Thomas, Shannon Ratcliff, Scott and Rachel Harvey, Alex Harvey and Mac Harvey. Great grandchildren, Brody, Dylan, Christian, Abi, Rose, Chad, Lexy, Noah, Tristan and Tanner, Kinley, Ainsleigh and his beloved Bird- Babe, and many other friends and family.

Dad served his country in the navy for twenty years, then provided for his family as a machinist. Dad loved fixing meals for Sunday dinner and having all the family to eat with him and mom. He took care of all of us and wanted to be sure we were doing okay.

Thank you Dad, Paw-Paw, Poppy-o for all your love and hard work; we will miss you!

We want to thank Carilion Hospice for helping walk Dad home. Also, all the caregivers kids, grandkids, helpers, and our church family who kept him comfortable over the last few weeks. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at Horne Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, October 6, at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Ryan Rose conducting the service with burial and military rites at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. There will be a dinner at the Ellett Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church, hosted by the church at 1264 Misty Hills Circle Blacksburg, VA, 24060) immediately following the burial, service.
